Quilt Con 2017 - Savannah, Georgia

 I had the pleasure of meeting our ( MQG ) fearless and extremely talented leader, Jaquie Gering. An amazing quilter and down to earth lady.

Next are pictures of only a small sampling of the Charity Quilts. There were so many and they were all wonderful.

Here are all the entries for the Pantone Color of the Year.

The crowning glory of the show, Bling, Best in Show. This quilt is just jaw dropping in person.

A few of the quilts that caught my eye, although every entry was beautiful.

Designing

So, I'm working on a block ( see below ) and trying to get the dimensions right. It should be same width and height so I can rotate it and it will be the same size. Of course I thought I had it right away..haha, not.

 So my guild, LMQG, does outreach for the local Habitat for Humanity and they asked us to do wall hangings with a house theme and I did this with the wrong size blocks.

One week to QuiltCon

In a little over a week, 8 days to be exact, I will be heading out to my first QuiltCon held in Savannah Georgia. QuiltCon is the convention for the Modern Quilt Guild and is held every year, rotating location from east to west, with the west location being Pasadena, CA. I was able to obtain 2 all day workshops and and really looking forward to them, as well as viewing all the quilts entered and shopping!

Just finished this piece for the QuiltCon East 2017 quilt swap. It's called Bow Tie Talk. Hope the recipient likes it.
